Listen in to my interview with Steve Prawdzik on The Sports Project in Grand Rapids, MI where we discuss four common reactions to coronavirus and the mental effects they have on us:
1. How we ARE overthinking our response to COVID-19 and how to best respond to this worry.
2. Where we AREN’T thinking enough (stick to the guidelines!)
3. How your mask and mouth breathing are causing anxiety (breathe through the nose…even if it fogs your glasses.)
4. We are NOT all in the same boat together.
This last topic is particularly sensitive, yet very important. While it is a nice sentiment to think we’re “all in this together,” we each have a unique experience to deal with. A better way to look at it is with this analogy: We are in the same storm, but we’re not in the same boat. Some people are on yachts, others are in a rowboat, and some barely have a life vest to cling to.
We each own the responsibility to manage our own life and challenges. Be compassionate with yourself, but also lean into this responsibility for your best outcome.
Enjoy the discussion.
